Ten good reasons for enjoying Cadiz.

1.The people. The people from Cadiz are famous for their openness, their hospitality and for their quick and witty sense of humour.

2.The beaches.
The beaches of Cadiz are considered to be amongst the best urban beaches in Spain and there's a wide choice: from the beaches of the historic Santa María del Mar and La Caleta to of the oldest cities in the West.

3.Food and drink.
Top quality ingredients: fish and seafood from the Bay of Cadiz, fruit and vegetables from the market gardens, cheese from the Sierra, beef from La Janda, and at very reasonable prices.

4.Tradition.
Even though Cadiz faces the sea in all directions, it has maintained its centuries-old traditions with a wise mixture of history and modernity. Not in vain is Cadiz considered to be one of the oldest cities in the West.

5.Fun and enjoyment.
Cadiz is a university city and as such has a wide range of free time activities for young people. There are concerts and fiestas all year long.

6.Culture.
Cadiz offers an extensive and very varied programme of cultural activities. There are weekly performances of more classical music and theatre at the Teatro Falla, and the Central Lechera and other alternative venues offer opportunities to see less formal performances.

7.Cadiz is more.
The province of Cadiz offers the advantage of having one foot in the Mediterranean and the other in the Atlantic so that visitors are able to enjoy a great selection of landscapes and environments.

8.Flamenco.
Cadiz is one of the original birthplaces for the art of flamenco, which grew up in the triangle formed by Cadiz, Jerez and Sevilla.

9.Nature.
There are six natural parks and one national park in the province of Cadiz, so if you are interested in walking or cycling you are in an ideal place.

10. Live stone.
Cadiz is a city with more than two thousand years of history and as you would expect, history is to be found in daily life. You will feel this if you wander around the neighbourhoods of El Pópulo, the medieval city, or La Viña.
